Vengayam Thokku/Onion Thokku
2 Venagyam/Onion
2 Thakali/Tomato
1 tsp Kadugu/Musturd
1/2 tsp Vendhayam/Fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp Molaga Podi/Chilly Powder
1/2 tsp Perungayam/Asafoetida
Theveyana alavu uppu/Salt to taste
Grate the onion. Cut tomato into fine pieces. (The above 2 steps becoz i dont have a mixe/food processor). In a pan heat oil. When oil is hot crackle the mustered seeds, followed by the fenugreek seeds. Add the onion and tomato. Add the chilly powder, asafoetida and salt. Now let it heat and reduce. Reduce till it comes as a single piece of ball if u move the karandi through it.
It is now ready to eat. You can mix it with rice or side dish for dosai, chapathi, bread, basically anything you want to experiment with.
